Michelle Marsh - Owner and Stylist
Hi, My name is Michelle Marsh. I have been a licensed cosmetologist for 35 years. I am a graduate of Niskayuna High School and Albany Votec for Cosmetology.
I have been the proud owner of Encourage Hair Salon since 2011. The experience has been a great one with lots of growth! I work in the business as an active stylist/colorist. I am proficient in the Wella Color Line and love the frequent improvements Wella makes to this excellent set of products.
The best part of my job is working with each one of you! As my staff and I provide the services around beautiful hair styling and coloring here in Clifton Park, NY, we also get the privilege of getting to build relationships with each of you. Cathy Barrett - Stylist
For as long as I can remember I wanted to be a hair stylist. Now with 30 years of experience, I still feel like there is nothing else I would rather be doing. I pride myself with taking the time to give each client the individual attention they so deserve. I'm committed to providing the latest industry trends, styles, colors, and cuts, and doing so in a warm, friendly environment. I look forward to providing you with all your hair care needs.
Kim Drzmala - Stylist
I’m Kim Drzymala and I have been in the capital region for many years. I graduated from Austin Beauty School and was trained by Glemby International in New York City. I have seen the beauty industry evolve in many ways and still find it fascinating, but the best part of my work are the clients who become part of my family with their children and grandchildren.
Jillian Marsh - Stylist
Jillian graduated from Paul Mitchell the school Schenectady, Spring 2014. Upon completing the 1,000 hour program and passing both New York State exams, Jillian launched her professional career.
As she developed her skills, she gravitated to the art of coloring. Jillian enjoys anything from a basic all over color to challenging, bright, fashion colors. Jillian specializes in balayage and various blonding techniques as well.(see a few examples of Jillian's work below)
Formal Styling is another passion of hers. Jillian takes pride in her ability to deliver your dream look on your special day. She offers in house services as well as on site services for your convenience.

Jordan Beller - Stylist
Jordan Beller is a licensed hair stylist, makeup artist, and nail technician. She graduated from Paul Mitchell the School in 2014. She prides herself in her communication skills, believing it is the foundation for long-lasting relationships in the beauty industry.
Jordan performs a variety of services including both men and women’s precision haircuts, dimensional hair coloring, special events and bridal makeup, Global Keratin treatments, and gel manicures. She specializes in natural curly and textured hair but loves to let her creative side run wild with trendy, edgy cuts, and vibrant fashion colors. She focuses her energy on taking the time to understand each of her individual client’s lifestyles in order to provide them with their own unique and fashionable look.
Jordan genuinely loves making her guests smile and feel their absolute best. She feels lucky to have found a career that resonates with her so perfectly and is incredibly happy to be a part of the Encourage Hair Salon Family!

(Jordan’s photoshoot compilation submission won her a trip to Las Vegas where she had the opportunity to gain career insights from leading beauty industry influencers, and network with owners from the most prestigious salons across the United States).

North America’s largest and most inclusive beauty event which celebrates the industry’s leading star-studded talent.
*2015 – Certified makeup artist and educator for Ultimate Face Cosmetics
(Natural/everyday, bridal, runway, special Fx, avant-garde, and camouflaging).
*2016 - Completed Global Keratin Certification Course
*2020 - Completed Barbicide Certification Course
Received training and understanding of proper sanitation and disinfection practices and procedures consistent with the current highest industry standards.
Marissa Sousa - Stylist
Marissa started her beauty school career in 2010 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, studying at Horry-Georgetown Tech College. Marissa was born and raised in Burnt Hills , so returning to this area is an important move for her.
Growing up Marissa always loved to do her own hair and makeup. She knew this was her passion from an early age! She says, "Each day is a new experience, with every guest giving me inspiration!"
Marissa's favorite hair services are blonding techniques such as balayage and highlighting. Barber cutting techniques for men and women's trendy short cuts are a close second for her! She truly loves it all.
Special occasion updos are also a favorite. Letting creativity flow for an up style is the best therapy!
When Marissa is not in the salon attending to her guests she enjoys spending time with her two boys Jackson and Henry. She loves to garden and cook as well!
Jo Ann Bowen - Stylist
Hi, Jo Ann Bowen here. I am 41 years young in this industry and enjoying life as a stylist and colorist.
I can honestly say that I am always fascinated by the fact that no matter how long you have been invested in the livelihood you will always be young! I am always growing and learning and able to bring the best of myself to my clients!
